WHY SHOPIFY? AFFORDABLE PRICING!

Shopify offers multiple plans and pricing options, including a basic plan. The basic plan is best for new e-commerce businesses and is a very affordable starting point, however, this plan is not basic at all.  It includes free themes that are customizable, so you don’t need to do anything from scratch.  And there are no limitations on the number of products you post. You can get s FREE 14 Day Trial Here.

Shopify Plans
Here's a preview of the current monthly Shopify plans:

The most popular Shopify plans are:

Basic ($29/mo):  Good for new ecommerce businesses with occasional in-person sales

Shopify ($79 (mo): Good for growing businesses selling online or in-store

Advanced ($299/mo): Good for scaling businesses that require advanced reporting

Pricing is month-to-month. This means that you can cancel your plan at any time because you haven’t signed up for long-term commitment.

You also have the option to sign up for a 1 year or 2-year commitment.  With a 1 year commitment, you’ll get a 10% discount and with a 2-year commitment you’ll get a 20% discount.  You will still pay monthly, however you can’t cancel your plan until your commitment term has ended.

Other Plans

There are two other specialized plans offered by Shopify;  Shopify Lite and Shopify Plus.

With Shopify Lite, there's no online store.  You would instead add a buy button to another non-Shopify website. This is a great way to sell a few products on your existing blog site. You can also use Shopify to sell in-person with POS lite.  The cost for this plan is $9 per month.

Shopify Plus is an e-commerce solution for enterprise customers (really big stores), with pricing starting at $2,000 per month.  It eliminates the need for expensive, onsite legacy software that requires a team of developers and lengthy installation timeframes.

Transaction Fees

Shopify has a variety of payment options for customers. Through Shopify Payments, you'll be able to accept most credit cards. You can also set up Paypal, Amazon pay, Google pay, Apple pay, and even an installment plan option. Of course, you'll pay a transaction fee for these.

Transactions fees for using Shopify Payments to process credit cards is as follows:

Basic Plan:  2.9% + 30 cents per transaction

Shopify Plan: 2.6% + 30 cents per transaction

Advanced Plan: 2.3% + 30 cents per transaction

You can use another payment processor method, but beware....you'll still have to pay Shopify a fee, in addition to your regular transaction fees. This varies from .05%-2%, depending on your plan.

Additional Shopify Costs

Shopify integrates with many 3rd party applications.  Every store is unique, and we've never built a store that didn't require at least one app. This is important to factor into your overall budget, as these can add up quickly. There are thousands of apps in the Shopify App Store. ranging from no cost to low cost to downright expensive.

Summary

Shopify is a great platform for small businesses looking to sell products online. It’s easy to set up and use, and there are plenty of resources available to help you learn how to use it. The best part is that you don’t need to know anything about coding to start selling on Shopify. If you’re not sure about using Shopify or are not sure which plan to select after reviewing all the features, you can always try the free 14 day trial.
